Prepping for the Party Season!

Cheers to the party season! From Christmas events to end of year parties, there is much to celebrate after what has been a very interesting year. As you reach for the delicious cocktails and pop the champagne, we have a few things that we want you to keep in mind.
Drinking too much alcohol puts a strain on the liver and the cells of the body. Toxicity results if the alcohol is not removed thoroughly from the system. This can lead to the obvious hangover, but there are also many more long term effects such as red cheeks, dilated capillaries, skin irritations, pigmentation, weight gain around the tummy and a lowered immune system.
Here are our top tips to keep you looking and feeling good this party season:
- Hydration is key. Alternate your drinks with a glass of water. This will not only help slow down the rate of alcohol consumption, but it will also ensure you are staying hydrated through the night, lessening tomorrow's sore head.
- Choose clear spirits such as gin and vodka over darker spirits such as whiskey and rum. There is a higher quantity of congeners found in darker spirits. Congeners may stimulate the body to release stress hormones, such as norepinephrine and epinephrine. These can cause inflammatory responses in the body that lead to fatigue and other hangover symptoms.
- Never ever drink on an empty stomach. Have a smoothie or a light snack before going out.
- Your go-to throughout the party season! Purity is jam packed full of nutrient rich greens, cruciferous veggies, sprouted ingredients and prebiotics, milk thistle and dandelion to support both your gut, and liver! Just add two 2 teaspoons in shot form with water or juice, or in a smoothie to super start your day.
- Vita-sol party trick tip – If you have over indulged a little too much on alcohol or rich food at a party, take 2 tsp of Purity in a shot of water before bed and again first thing in the morning when you wake up. This will help to support the gut and give your liver some extra love.
The party season is about having fun and enjoying yourself, just remember to enjoy all things in moderation.
